Mercedes-AMG C 63 Manhart CR 700 Last Edition Perfect Car For The Weekend

Did you somehow think that with the new Mercedes-AMG C 63 out and about, tuners would ignore its predecessor? Well, yes and no, with the latter part applying to Manhart, which has just released a few cool upgrades for the W205, which is in its top configuration, boasting multiple goodies straight from the factory that the Affalterbach brand signed.
 

You will be excused if you cannot tell that this is a Mercedes-AMG C 63 S, as it is hard to tell it apart from the non-S model, as both shared countless goodies, including the ubiquitous V8 engine. The bi-turbo 4.0-liter unit was good for 503 brake horsepower, equaling 510 metric horsepower and 375 kilowatts. The thrust was rated at 516 pound-feet (700 Nm), and according to the official spec sheet, this model tapped out at 180 mph (290 kph) and reached 60 mph (97 kph) in just 3.9 seconds, one-tenth faster than the regular C 63.
 
As you can likely tell from its new given name, the Manhart CR 700 boasts a lot more oomph. The output stands at 700 metric horsepower, hence the suffix, and this means it has 690 brake horsepower and 515 kilowatts to play with. The tuner says that torque has also increased to 664 pound-feet (900 Nm). The new 0-60 mph acceleration is unknown, yet we believe it might reach that mark in around three and a half seconds after taking off, or perhaps slightly faster. This would make it just as quick as the modern C 63 S E Performance, which can do it in 3.3 seconds, aided by its electrified 2.0L four-pot that makes a combined 671 hp (680 ps/500 kW).
 

This premium compact sports sedan, which is punchier than its successor and looks ready to put any stock BMW M3 in its corner in a straight-line sprint, also features a set of aftermarket wheels. The same tuner signed them, and they have a six-double-spoke design and a bi-tone look. The rest of the car is finished in black with Manhart’s typical stripes decorating it. It also sports the tuner’s emblem on the new wheels, which spin around the Manhart-branded yellow brake calipers, and on the trunk lid, with the latter component also featuring the ‘CR 700’ lettering, as well as the ‘Last Edition’ logo below it.
 
If Manhart’s latest CR 700 reminds you of something, it is probably the CR 600 unveiled more than two years ago. That project was also based on the W205, and as its name implies, it offered less oomph, with the output standing at 614 bhp (623 ps/458 kW) and 649 pound-feet (880 Nm) of torque. And no, there’s no typo here, as despite being called the CR 600, it does not offer 600 metric horsepower.
