Even though this is far from being our first encounter with the Brabus Rocket GTS, we couldn’t simply look away when we saw these new images on the tuner’s social media channels. After all, this is one project that deserves nothing but love.

If you have a soft spot for the Mercedes-AMG SL 63 S E Performance, then you likely dig this build. After all, it builds on the electrified open-top super grand tourer, a model that has 805 bhp (601 kW/816 ps) and 1,047 pound-feet (1,420 Nm) of torque to play with, rocketing (pun intended) it to 60 mph (97 kph) in 2.8 seconds.
With the extra oomph, which was unlocked by increasing the displacement of the 4.0-liter bi-turbo V8 to 4.5 liters and upgrading other components, the Brabus Rocket GTS manages to complete 0-60 mph in 2.6 seconds. Mind you, that is straight new-age supercar territory, as this machine is just as fast as the Lamborghini Temerario.

Power-wise, you are looking at 986 brake horsepower (736 kW/1,000 ps) and 1,195 pound-feet (1,620 Nm) of torque. We should tell you that the thrust was limited, as the initial number was 1,342 pound-feet (1,820 Nm). The reason is simple, as it is all about the nine-speed automatic transmission, as the original revised torque would have ruined it.
In addition to the impressive performance numbers, the Brabus Rocket GTS is no longer an open-top model, but a veritable Mercedes Clown Shoe. The three-door shooting brake body style was crafted from carbon fiber and includes a ventilated hood, a new bumper with sporty air intakes, aggressive side skirts, fender flares, a pair of spoilers at the rear, and a big diffuser with cutouts for the four tailpipes.
The wheels are also on the custom side of things, and they are called the Brabus Monoblock P Platinum Edition. On a different machine, we would have said that they are a bit too much, yet we believe that they suit this three-door machine perfectly. Adorned with the tuner’s logo on the center caps, the alloys were shod in grippy tires from Continental’s shelves.

Clearly, the Brabus Rocket GTS is not a ride aimed at the average Joe, unless they have really deep pockets and an immense appreciation for this company’s builds. The reason lies in the pricing, as this is an eye-wateringly expensive car.
We wrote about this particular example about a month ago, and back then, it was listed on Brabus’ official website with a price tag that equaled more than $1.1 million, and that is significantly more than what you’d have to pay for a new Lamborghini Revuelto. The Italian automaker’s flagship supercar starts at over $600,000. If you had to choose between a real blue-blooded exotic and the Brabus Rocket GTS, which one would you pick and why?
