It’s hard to stand out in the world of custom car body kits these days. The various tuners slap ever more egregious carbon panels onto the world’s most expensive cars and call it a day. In order to grab attention, Polish tuner Carlex Design has gone in a different direction. It transforms modern Mercedes-Benz G-Class models into retro-looking machines, and its latest is quite striking.
The latest Carlex retro model is called the Rose Vintage G63. It’s a powder pink imagining of the G-Class, had it existed in the glamor of 1950s fashion instead of the doldrums of 2025.
Pink, It Was Love At First Sight
Carlex is very clear that it is aiming this G at women. “It’s definitely a proposition for a lady who appreciates timeless and classic style,” the company says. It describes the G as “made for bold women who aren’t afraid to showcase their style to the world.” It’s more likely to attract men whose knowledge of the interests of their wives and/or girlfriends starts and ends with ‘pink and expensive,’ but since this is a neat G, we’ll ignore that.
The pink paint with a white roof is impossible to miss, but it means you might miss some of the other smaller details. This G is about five inches wider than a stock G63, for a start. It’s also slightly taller, giving it a delightful stance.
Wonderful 1950s-style Benz-logo dogdish hubcaps and white wall tires stand out. Carlex has added chrome to the door and window trim, and the new front and rear bumpers shine in classic style.
The inside looks like you crashed into a Pepto-Bismol warehouse, but the finishes are all exceptional. Pink perforated leather with white accents covers almost the entirety of the cabin. Even the headliner has been replaced with a pink fabric, with contrasting white seat belts keeping the theme.
Wood Panels Protect The Trunk, But You Can Cover Them In Pink Too
In the back, new wood paneling covers the trunk floor as well as the back of the rear seats. The boat-like look might be better for hauling cargo, but it’s really about the appearance. The wood on the floor can be covered with folding pink leather panels that are held in place with chrome snaps.
Under the hood is the same 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8. It makes 577 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque, so this pink Benz will fly. Carlex didn’t say the price, but it will no doubt be expensive. Carlex has built a half-dozen different Vintage themes so far, with most limited to just seven copies.
If pink doesn’t tickle your fancy, the company will be happy to make you one of the others. The choices include green Fern, orange Fiamma, blue Sky, and more. Or you can get one that’s completely bespoke, like the pistol-packing Steampunk edition model pictured below.
