Mercedes-Benz, which at the beginning of the year celebrated 140 years of innovation, also promised an onslaught of brand-new and refreshed models. They kicked off the proceedings with the flagship limousine, of course, the 2026 S-Class sedan.

Since then, they have already started fulfilling their promises by launching the luxurious Mercedes-Benz VLE minivan with electric power, which is also coming to America; teasing us to the interior of the fresh Mercedes-AMG electric super sedan (the successor of the AMG GT 4-Door Coupe); or by reintroducing a six-cylinder engine to the Mercedes-AMG GLC and GLC Coupe for the 53 version, among other things.
But whatever they do, we can always extrapolate and get back to the S-Class: the luxurious minivan is like an S with more space inside, and the AMG super sedan is the sporty take on the flagship sedan ethos. So, let’s get back to the 2026 Mercedes-Benz S-Class flagship limousine because even the members of the imaginative guild of digital car content creators love it.

One of them recently left the parallel universes of vehicular CGI to showcase their latest unofficial, hypothetical design project – a dark and menacing, all-black 2026 Mercedes-Benz S-Class. Ildar, the virtual artist better known as “ildar_project” on social media, usually plays with tuned vehicles – so is anyone surprised by this 2026 S-Class?
Not at all, since he also showed it in a dark bronze style with the virtual body kit finished in gloss black, just like the concave spindle wheels. Now the pixel master plays with the all-black style and everything – including the windows or the three-pointed star badges – is painted black. This unofficial, hypothetical design project still didn’t adopt the murdered-out look because it stopped short of it at the wheels – they have a funky design and a classic silver polish.
Other than that, it’s harder to make out the body kit, but we know that it includes a reworked front spoiler element, new side sills, as well as a new diffuser with trapezoidal tailpipes and an F1-style central LED brake light on one of the fins, along with a subtle trunk spoiler, among others. We also see a hint of a slammed attitude, just to make it even more menacing.

So, what do you think- yay or nay? By the way, this is the ‘base’ 2026 Mercedes-Benz S500 variant featuring the new inline-six engine packing “just” 442 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque, or up to 472 lb-ft with the ‘overtorque’ function. It’s still a good athlete, capable of sprinting to 60 mph in just 4.3 seconds and hitting an electronically governed top speed of 130 mph.
The second option is the S580, which is even more interesting: it also gets a new engine, an all-new 4.0-liter V8 featuring a flat-plane crankshaft, a setup mostly encountered among high-end sports cars rather than elegant limousines!
