Mercedes-AMG G 63 New Mansory Gronos Needs An Acronym

MANSORY is the first tuning manufacturer to present a comprehensive update to its conversion program for the particularly popular “Gronos” and is initially offering a “limited edition” of 8 units each. The conversion program has been redesigned in all areas, meaning that all carbon parts of the respective body kit has been completely redesigned. Mansory has been on a roll recently, introducing all kinds of tuned machines, including a Mercedes-AMG G 63 6×6 that we are particularly fond of. However, this story is about a different G-Wagen, one that wears the Gronos moniker in the tuner’s portfolio.
 
You’re likely familiar with the Gronos if you follow Mansory’s builds, as it has been around for a good while now. However, the latest one is said to be a completely different package, sporting new everything, and Mansory claims it will only develop eight of these, though we reckon that number might increase for the right sum.
 

As for the what’s new part of the story, when compared to the standard Mercedes-AMG G 63, anyway, that would be the tweaked front bumper with extra DRLs and a chin spoiler, the hood, the sculpted fender flares, and the diffuser-like piece attached to the rear bumper. We should also mention the roof piece above the front windscreen, the double spoiler at the rear, the D-pillar add-ons, the new spare wheel holder, and the taillights that were replaced on the rear bumper.
 
Mansory also signed the exhaust pipe trim and the wheels, which are said to be part of its FD.15 series, measuring 24 inches in diameter on the tuned 4×4. The whole thing is yellow with a few black and forged carbon touches, and yellow is the hue that dominates the cockpit, too. Mansory reupholstered it in fine leather while leaving its mark on the seatbelts, cushions, steering wheel, center console, headliner, and so on. The door cards are custom, and so is the new overhead panel that hosts the ignition button, and the starlight feature completes the makeover.
 

The 4.0-liter V8 motor with twin turbos produces 627 pound-feet (850 Nm) of torque in the standard Mercedes-AMG G 63 and 577 brake horsepower (585 ps/430 kW), enabling 0-62 mph (100 kph) in roughly four and a half seconds. However, Mansory’s latest Gronos is far punchier than that. The controversial tuner quotes 848 pound-foot (1,150 Nm) for the torque and 808 horsepower (820 ps/603 kW) for the output, stating that its latest modified G-Wagen takes a mere (for a brick-shaped 4×4) four seconds flat to sprint from rest to sixty-two miles per hour.
 
Now, we may have gotten used to Mansory’s flashy projects, having covered so many of them over the years, but for something that came from this tuner’s garage, the latest Gronos does not look bad at all. We can easily imagine it in a darker finish, and it would likely look stunning, though for what it’s worth, the yellow attire shown here certainly does the job.
