Over the past couple of years, the mid-size German luxury triumvirate has been completely renewed – and again, you have to choose between extra-fresh Audi A6, BMW 5 Series, or Mercedes-Benz E-Class options.
Everything started with the G60 BMW 5 Series executive sedan – the model was presented originally in all-electric i5 form in May 2023, followed by the ICE-powered models and the sedan model in March 2024. Next up, the sixth generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class executive car also renewed its lineup almost at the same time, with the model range consisting of three body styles, this time around – sedan, estate, and the all-terrain station wagon.
Earlier this year, Audi also came up with the latest A6, which was first announced as the Avant model and then swiftly followed by the sedan form factor. Now, all three of them are again pretty fresh – but that doesn’t include their high-performance variants. More precisely, while the BMW M5 Sedan and Touring are already out and about with an electrified V8 PHEV powertrain and 717 combined horsepower, the Audi RS 6 is nowhere to be found just yet, and even the Mercedes-AMG E-Class only has the E 53 Hybrid 4Matic+ available for customers.
The latter features an inline-six-based plug-in hybrid setup with a combined 604 horsepower, all-wheel drive, and a 25.4 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. However, maybe it’s not enough for all fans. No worries, as the members of the imaginative guild of digital car content creators can always stop dwelling across the parallel universes of vehicular CGI to do something about that.
For example, Russia-based virtual artist Mikhail Sachko, better known as mikhail_sachko on social media, has decided to showcase what’s possible with the W214 Mercedes-Benz E-Class when the target is to teach the BMW M5 a lesson about what’s possible with the visuals. These upgrades would look great on the Mercedes-AMG version and include a reworked hood, a new radiator grille, a widebody setup, and a ton of forged carbon fiber elements for the aerodynamic kit.
The extra-wide fender flares look great in combination with the forged carbon fiber elements, which include the rear diffuser, the subtle trunk spoiler, the side sills, as well as the entire front bumper. Additionally, tucked under the wide fender flares, there is a set of turbine-style aftermarket alloy wheels with fat lips both front and rear to accommodate the massive width of the sport tires.
So, what do you think? Would you choose the Mercedes-AMG E 53 Hybrid 4Matic+ if it looked like this one in the real world, even though the BMW M5 and M5 Touring are both more powerful but not as tasty-fresh from the design standpoint?
