If there’s any company meant to build upon the firepower Mercedes-AMG already delivers, it’s Brabus. The German tuner leaves no Mercedes, Maybach, or smart untouched. What results is a combination of style and substance unique to the Bottrop, Germany-based shop.

Thus, it was only a matter of time until the hottest hatch around, the AMG A 45 4MATIC+, would land into the hands of Brabus. The result? The all-new Brabus B45.

Underneath the hood, Brabus created a custom hot sauce just for the 2.0-liter turbo-four. Ingredients include the PowerXtra CPC aux control unit, as well as the BoostXtra adapter, and special ducting for the air box. All combined, the B45’s turbo-four punches out 450 horses and 406 lb-ft of torque to the corners. Off the line, this means zero to 62 mph in just 3.7 seconds. Alas, the limiter is still in play; thus, it retains the A 45’s top speed of 168 mph.

Behind the livelier turbo-four, the B45’s interior looks no different than the A 45’s upon first glance. However, Brabus provides custom leather seating in any color, plus velour floor mats (keep your dirty shoes out, y’all). And speaking of colors, the stainless scuff plates can be lit in any of 64 colors, which match the ambient lighting.

Outside, the Brabus logo is everywhere, including the full set of custom Monoblock Z 20-inch wheels. Each one is 8.5 inches wide, and all are shod in Continental rubber. The rest of the B45 looks like the A 45, meaning no one will know what’s coming to them at the stoplight. Throw in adjustable sport springs to lower the car’s center of gravity, and there’s no stopping this hot hatch from burning down the highway.

Alas, as we already know, the A 45 can’t be had in the United States. Thus, the Brabus B45 shall remain in the realm of dreams. For those lucky enough to drive this heavy-hitter, though, will have a hot hatch like no other. No track or forest road shall be safe from the flames of destiny.
