Mercedes G-Class is one of those vehicles that needs no introduction. It has made a very solid name for itself these past few decades, transitioning from a military machine to a status symbol in the hands of wealthy people all over the world.

There is even a fresh iteration of the iconic premium truck, and the aftermarket realm can turn yours into a completely different ride. From coupes and convertibles to pickups and even six-wheel drive versions, name it, and it has been done. But where does the example pictured above stand? Why, in Fantasy Land, obviously, because if you paid attention to the title, then you know that it is nothing more than a rendered project.

Shared on Behance recently by Mythic Mesh, it’s been unofficially christened the 250GD Arctic Wolf for obvious reasons. It virtually uses the Expedition Motor Company’s Wolf, a restored Mercedes-Benz 250GD, as a foundation stone, and manages to stay true to the real thing up to a point. Beyond that, it is pure fantasy, as it definitely looks like something that one would find on a research vessel somewhere in the Arctic without any proper papers to its name.
Overall, the so-called 250GD Arctic Wolf is a very boxy-looking SUV with two doors, a pair of round LED headlights with integrated DRLs, and a closed-off grille that features the three-pointed star brand’s logo on it. The front bumper is made of steel, and there is also underbody protection. The trim stretching on the sides from the front to the rear is iconic to the real G-Wagen. We can see a minimalistic steel bumper at the rear, more underbody protection, and a full-size spare wheel holder attached to the rear door.

A pair of skies sit next to the spare wheel holder, and there is also a set of ultra thin LED taillights on deck. The model rides on extremely fat tires wrapped around the wheels, and has a very generous ground clearance, as well as what seem to be portal axles. The interior is also minimalistic and futuristic, and somewhat familiar to Mercedes, as it has a pair of screens behind a single pane of glass, as well as a two-spoke steering wheel, and a large center console.
With two more doors, extra space between the axles, and a fixed-roof design, as well as a few other modifications, we reckon that this thing would become even cooler. Not that it is not on the cool side of things as it now stands, because it is, and to be honest, I can see myself developing a soft spot for this 250GD Arctic Wolf. The question is, would you want Mercedes to launch a similar-looking thing?
