2026 Mercedes-Benz CLA Shooting Brake Should Look Like

If you have a thing for sexy-looking station wagons, we cannot blame you. After all, these rides deserve a proper spot in today’s car game as a low-riding alternative to the crossover and SUV frenzy.

Although less popular than they once were, estates still make up a good chunk of the automotive industry, especially overseas. Mercedes is currently putting the final touches on the brand-new CLA Shooting Brake. The five-door sibling to the brand’s latest four-door coupe is in pre-production form, with the company’s engineering team making some last-minute adjustments before the car debuts, presumably later this year.

We have seen several testers in the open recently (and not only), and with the four-door CLA already out, we know what to expect, for the most part. Thus, this model will utilize the same MMA platform and should launch in the CLA 250+ with EQ Technology and CLA 350 4Matic with EQ Technology – you know, like the four-door CLA. The latter is a bi-motor EV with 349 bhp combined, and the former uses a rear-mounted motor rated at 268 bhp.

Both models use an 85 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that supports fast charging up to 320 kW. A 10-minute refill will give it plenty of juice for over 200 miles (325 km) of range on the four-door Mercedes-Benz CLA. A hybrid is also available, mixing an 8sp DCT with an integrated motor and a 1.5L four-banger. Front-wheel and all-wheel drive variants will be available with the gasoline lineup, and we expect the Shooting Brake to follow the same route, complete with at least one AMG model.

The same 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, two 14-inch displays (infotainment system and passenger screen), Google and Microsoft AI, an MBUX Virtual assistant, and many others will be on deck in the 2026 Mercedes-Benz CLA Shooting Brake. But what will this vehicle look like? Pretty much like the one that recently fell into the hands of Kolesa. Well, ‘fell’ may be too big a word, as this is a CGI-infused vehicle that calls Fantasy Land home.

The quoted outlet is known for creating very realistic digital illustrations of upcoming products, and the same goes for the 2026 Mercedes-Benz CLA Shooting Brake you see above. The pixel master behind these CGIs analyzed the numerous camouflaged prototypes and utilized the same design of the new-gen four-door CLA when coming up with these renderings. So, what you see here is pretty much what you will get when the car goes official, supposedly in a few months, with the order books opening not long after.

We certainly dig the design, as it is a well-deserved refresh. However, would you pick one up over an equivalent crossover? Let us know what you think of the new CLA Shooting Brake by dropping a line below.
