Karin Rådström has taken up her position as Member of the Board of Management, Daimler Truck AG, responsible for Mercedes-Benz Trucks. Prior to her current position, she was responsible for sales and marketing at Scania, as a member of the Executive Board of the Swedish company.

“We are very pleased to welcome Karin to our global leadership team. She has a wealth of international experience in the commercial vehicles industry and a proven track record in shaping a customer focused sales organization and brand experience,” says Martin Daum, Chairman of the Board of Management Daimler Truck AG and member of the board of Management of Daimler AG.

Karin Rådström was born in Sweeden. She started as a trainee at Scania back in 2004, following her graduation with a Master of Engineering in Industrial Management from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. In 2007, she received her first managerial position at Scania, one of the series to come. She then became the manager of the sales and service organization within the Swedish company. She also held the position of Head of Bus and Coach business and she was the one to instrument the connected vehicle business.

Karin Rådström takes over from Stefan Buchner as the head of Mercedes-Benz Trucks
From now on, she will take over from Stefan Buchner. The 60-year old retired in October 2020, after 35 years with Daimler.

“At the beginning of a new decade in my life, I have made the personal decision to retire. I would like to thank all of my colleagues for the excellent collaboration and many special moments in more than three decades – above all the successful premiere of the new Actros at the IAA Commercial Vehicles Show in 2018. We at Mercedes-Benz Trucks have achieved a lot in recent years, but there is still a lot to do. The latest structural measures have laid the foundation stone”, Buchner stated before saying goodbye.
