We live in the golden age of high-performance motoring with cars of all shapes and sizes delivering insane levels of performance. Take for instance the Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 Coupe. This SUV weighs as much as a school bus, can carry a large family and their stuff, and still manage to keep up with a Porsche 911. It’s a true super-SUV, but there’s always room for improvement. Enter Russian tuner Topcar Design: this company is responsible for some seriously in-your-face cars, including carbon-clad Porsche Panameras, and has now shifted its attention to the brawny GLE Coupe, and the end result, dubbed the Inferno, is rather attention-grabbing.

Topcar Design is very proud of the fact that its body kit for the GLE Coupe consists of 25 individual parts, and while the parts are still only computer sketches, layout work is set to start in January, while a finished car is expected in April. From what we can tell, the kit will add a healthy helping of carbon fiber bits to the front, side, and rear of the car, including a full carbon-fiber hood, front splitter, and intake, side sills, as well as fender flares, mirror covers, and a trunk lip spoiler and rear diffuser. Customers will have the option of leaving the carbon thread exposed, or getting it covered in body-matching paint.

Smaller touches include a set of trapezoidal exhaust tips, and the whole package is rounded off with a set of Topcar Designed forged wheels. Under the skin the GLE 63 Coupe is just as wild: powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 connected to a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, total output comes to 603 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque. That’s good enough for a zero to sixty time of only 3.7 seconds. Pricing for the kit is yet to be announced, but a similar kit for the smaller GLC Coupe costs up to 836 thousand Rubles ($11,169).
