We all know that, besides being extremely expensive (starting at $154k in America), the Mercedes-Benz G-Class is a formidable machine even in its base configuration. However, the German automaker has more ways than one to turn it into a veritable monster.

There are special models, such as the Manufaktur, Guard, or Maybach variants, as well as true high-performance flagships, like the Mercedes-AMG G 63. Sometimes, even Mercedes wants to further stand out in any crowd, so they create berserker mods like the 6×6 version of the 4×4 Squared.
The latter is just as easy to recognize: the SUV’s raised ride height and brutish stance are immediately apparent from every angle, and the setup significantly enhances its already impressive off-road capability. Portal axles, permanent four-wheel drive, locking differentials, and much more are also on the menu, of course.

It also utilizes the Mercedes-AMG G 63’s M177 V8 twin-turbo engine, but with a slightly increased output of 585 hp, compared to 577 horsepower. The raised height, large carbon fiber fenders, LED light bar, carbon-fiber spare tire cover, and rugged styling are always impossible to miss, just like the starting price, which was $350k at the time of introduction.
Even today, the Mercedes-AMG G 63 4×4 Squared remains a commanding presence, despite Mercedes-Benz introducing an all-new W465 iteration of the G-Class last year, and the G 63 being the only model in the family with a V8 under the hood. The premium German automaker could soon introduce a novel variant of the 4×4 Squared, but until then, even the tiniest change bestowed upon the massive Mercedes-AMG could easily set it apart from any crowd.
If you need an example, Miami, Florida-based Vossen has a vast portfolio of aftermarket wheels, and this time around, one of its American sets was used to make a German SUV even cooler than before. The light-gray Mercedes-AMG G 63 4×4 Squared is not just a behemoth, but also a stylish one, all thanks to a set of 24-inch, concave Vossen GNX-01 wheels dressed in a contrasting finish of Gloss Black.

The Vossen GNX-01, launched late last year, bridges the gap between ultra-deep concave wheels and ones with aggressive lips, giving SUVs and trucks an all-new and cooler look. They don’t cost much when compared to the starting MSRP of a G 63 4×4 Squared, as each costs $1,900. Availability includes 48 finishes and 20 to 26-inch diameters with 8.5 to 14-inch widths.
By the way, if the hulking Mercedes isn’t your kind of practical vehicle flavor, the great folks at Vossen also recently highlighted a ‘fast grocery getter,’ aka Audi’s RS 6 Avant. The gray phantom residing like a silver specter in a pumpkin field has a set of three-piece Vossen LC3-01T alloy wheels finished dually with Denim Blue faces and Matte Clear lips. So, which one is your favorite?
