An awesome 1989 Mercedes-Benz 560 SEC AMG 6.0 Widebody is heading to auction next month and could be the perfect vehicle for Mercedes aficionados.

The rare 560 SEC AMG 6.0 is a Japanese market model and as part of its transformation into an AMG model, the standard 5.5-liter M117 V8 engine was bored out to 6.0-liters while a set of new camshafts were also fitted. In addition, the engine now rocks 16-valve, three-piece, sand-cast cylinder heads, a modified throttle body, ported intake manifold, and a new exhaust, resulting in a satisfying 385 horses under that long hood.

The RM Sotheby’s listing reveals that the car also features AMG four-piston front brake calipers as well as Bilstein shocks at all four corners.

Various other modifications make this wild AMG creation all the more desirable. For example, the 560 SEC AMG 6.0 Widebody has handbuilt fenders and a ground effects package that includes extended skirts and bumpers. The car also retains its original three-piece, 17-inch wheels that are now clad in Bridgestone Potenza tires.

As for the cabin, it includes a Momo M38 steering wheel with a white-faced AMG instrument cluster. There’s also quilted buffalo leather door inserts and black carpeting.

The car is being offered for sale with 90,400 km (~56,200 miles) on the clock and includes a Japanese service manual, jack, spare tire, and an AMG document pouch.
