Premium ride-hailing service StarRides is now available in six cities across China. The service now also provides the English version of the app.

StarRides now operates in Hangzhou, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Xi’An, Beijing and Shanghai. The premium ride-hailing provider StarRides is a joint venture of Daimler Mobility AG and Chinese giant Geely Technology Group. The service launched exactly one year ago in Hangzhou. One year later, it covers China’s major business metropolises. The company now plans to expand the network in the near future.

StarRides accounted an average monthly growth of 80% in registered users. The vast majority of users are people on business trips. The rides they take are mostly to and from the airport or railway station.

The joint venture also launches an English version of the app, thus making things easier for the international users that live or travel in China. Therefore, the service expects further growth in the months to come.

StarRides uses Mercedes-Benz cars exclusively
Headquartered in Hangzhou, StarRides offers premium chauffeur services using exclusively Mercedes-Benz models. China stands as the world’s largest ride-hailing market.

“Premium ride-hailing is a key element in our mobility ecosystem. The strong growth rates show that StarRides is a perfect offering for customers looking for a true premium ride-hailing experience. Offering an English-based booking and customer experience is a very important next step to increase StarRides’ footprint in China.”, says Stephan Unger, Member of the Board of Management of Daimler Mobility for Finance, Controlling, Risk Management and Daimler Mobility .

”As the first strategic cooperation project between Geely Technology Group and Daimler Mobility AG, StarRides has ensured a win-win cooperation, provided high-quality of services, and has set -new industry standards amongst mobility service providers. Together with our partners, we strive to create more possibilities in the future of mobility services through synergies and leverage resources through our network of suppliers.”, Geely Technology Group President, Liu Jinliang said.

Thus customers can choose one of the cars available. The Mercedes-Benz S-Class and E-Class saloons or the 6-seat Mercedes-Benz V-Class MPV are in the company’s fleet.
